PATRICK KENNEDY AT THE FUNDRAISING DINNER IN DELAWARE FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST OPIOIDS EPIDEMIC

Ted Kennedy’s Son. Patrick Kennedy, was the special guest of honour at the Fundraising dinner Event, hosted by the Lt. Governor Bethany Hall.

Patrick Kennedy spoke extensively about the danger of being silent about the Opioids Epidemic. He is calling the attention of Delawareians to the deadly effects of drug overdose in the lives of our Young children as well as the mental adverse effects.

This is beyond individual fight but a National war in which everyone needs to get involved to solve this opioids Epidemic.

Everyday, more than 115 people in the United States DIE after overdosing on ‘OPIOIDS’!

The misuse of and addiction to opioids—opioid including prescription drugs   heroin, and synthetic opioids such as fentanyl—is a serious national crisis that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that the total “economic burden” of prescription opioid misuse alone in the United States is $78.5 billion a year, including the costs of healthcare, lost productivity, addiction treatment, and criminal justice involvement.
