Maine man used unsuspecting father as getaway driver for bank robbery, police say

A man who robbed a Maine bank on Tuesday used his unsuspecting father as his getaway driver, police said.

Joseph Donald Tilton, 39, was dropped off at a Lewiston bank by means of his father Keith in the afternoon, in accordance to an affidavit. Keith Tilton believed his son wanted to cash a check.

However, police said Joseph Tilton certainly robbed the bank. The bank teller informed authorities that she notion the man used to be joking about the cash due to the fact he spoke in a “low tone” to her, according to the Sun Journal. Moments later, he allegedly demanded she supply him the “f—–g money.”

He then jumped over the counter and took the cash from the teller and the drawer, the Sun Journal reported.

Keith dropped Joseph off at a distinctive phase of Lewiston before riding past the bank again. He used to be stopped by using police after his automobile matched the description of the automobile used to go away the scene after the alleged robbery. He wasn’t charged in the crime.

Joseph was once charged with criminal robbery and is accused of stealing $620, according to the Sun Journal.
