The blue side of Manchester was on Sunday thrown into a frenzy when Pep Guardiola’s men beat fellow Premier league side Chelsea Fc of England coached by Maurizio Sarri.
There was a serious bust-up between Chelsea coach Sarri, and goalkeeper Kepa Arizabalaga when the goalie was injured and was about been subbed off by the coach. Chelsea lost 4-3 on penalties after a much better performance from last week’s humiliating 6-0 defeat to city.
The game was at a stalemate for the whole of the regulation period and extra time of 30 mins.
Chelsea has already left the FA cup after a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Manchester United about a week ago.
There is more pressure mounting upon coach Sarri, who had been a scapegoat for Chelsea fans around the world. The board room members are no exception after getting a 2 year ban from FIFA on signing of new players. There is so much tension at the club and this loss adds more pains to their already sustained injury.
The win sees Pep Guardiola’s side clinch the first major piece of silverware for the new season.
Arrizabalaga did save Leroy Sane’s spot-kick, but should have done better when Aguero’s penalty slipped underneath his body.
Ilkay Gundogan also found the net for City before Sterling sealed the start of a potential quadruple of trophies this season by drilling his penalty in off the underside of the bar.
