A public Seaford football field was closed Sunday morning after vehicle tracks left large ruts in the grass, police said.
A worker from the city’s Parks and Recreation Department found Jays Nest Football Field with large “donut” circles covering a section of the grassy area, said Senior Cpl. Eric Chambers of Seaford police.

Police suspect the circular ruts on the North Market Street field were left from a 4-wheeler or ATV, and the value of the damage is unknown, Chambers said.
Once they’re found, the vandals will be charged with criminal mischief to city property. Chamber said the field should be open as early as Tuesday.
Anyone with information has been asked to call the Seaford Police Department at 302-629-6644.
